Day 3 of Giftmas, and it's all about books.
Buying books can be a bit of a tricky one, but I LOVE recommending books and gifting them to friends and family, as much as I love reading them. For me, 2020 has been a big book year for me (I've had a lot of time on my hands) and as I type up this Christmas Gift Guide series, I am currently reading my way through my 31st book of the year. That's for another post though, as you bet I'll be writing up about them separately.
There are a few friends and family members I, without fail, will buy a book or two at Christmas for, and always write a little note inside the front cover. I find this to be such a thoughtful gift idea, and cost effective.
This gift guide was a tricky one, as it was hard to narrow down my favourites! However, this guide doesn't just include books I've read - I've also added a few that came as recommendations too, and included a few cookbooks, which may come in handy for tomorrow's gift guide...
You will notice, that all the links for the books below take you to Bookshop.org I wanted to support local, independent businesses as much as possible throughout this gift guide series, and this website is an online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops.
Due to the current climate, we physically can't walk in to our local bookshops to pick up our next read - we have to order online. So this website allows us to have an easy, convenient way to buy our books and support local bookshops at the same time - what's amazing about it, is that if you want to support a specific local bookshop, you can find them on the map provided, and that bookshop will receive the full profit from your order. Otherwise, your order will contribute to an earnings pool that will be evenly distributed among independent bookshops. Either way, you're helping, so get clicking!
